Follow Through

I'll just shake my head
As you say that you want him
Because there's nothing there that people see in him

He's a hollow case, a waste of empty space
And a future is a far-fetched dream for him

I'll cringe here instead
As you say that you want him
His hands hold nothing, just promises paper thin

There's a basket case, the first to lose the race
The future is a far-fetch dream for me

Where's your hero now?
Where's your hero now?
He's off killing you inside, and fucking with your mind.

I can't thank you for being here
When all you did was tell him on your phone
I feel so far away when you're near
When I'm with you, I never feel more alone

Where's your hero now?
Where's your hero now?

Sally

The simple answer is that
There's no way
She'd give me the time of day
But it's okay,
Because I'll try to find a way
To get her to love me

I love the chase
But is that all it means to me?
Another broken day
That my heart plays like a timpani
When I think she loves me

Her name is Sally, not ally
The keepsake of your goodbyes
But are you really just the waiting kind?

When you look down at my worn shoes
Do you see dedication or a ratty tattoo?
When you listen to my young voice
Do you hear the infliction lost on old boys?

Her name is Sally, not ally
The keepsake of your goodbyes
But are you really just the waiting kind?

I'm just a little boy, house broken and brokenhearted
Waiting to see if we can go back to where we started

If you need me on twenty-third
Just call me up and say the word
Because I just can't keep myself
Away from you

Yellow Nights

Look at you, you look so fine
But do you know any other way
To keep me occupied?

You're an negligent angel in neglige
With chalk outlines around your wings
Did it hurt when you fell from heaven?
Because it sure as hell nearly killed me

Look at you, you look so fine
But do you know any other way
To keep me occupied?

You turned my invertebrate heart
Into a stainless steel blood factory
Extramarital affairs worth meddling
What happened to your limits after eighteen?

I was caught in the headlights
Couldn't speak, couldn't breathe
When you threw your words at me

I was lost in the blue nights
Couldn't speak, couldn't see
When your eyes hooked on me

Look at you, you look so fine
But do you know any other way
To keep me occupied?

Teal/Orange/Red/Gray/Violet

Here's a girl I would've fallen for
Had she said my name, I'd be at her door
in a flash, but alas
I would've fallen apart

I don't know who she is or what she's fighting for
With her fox-like eyes and her laughing on the floor
She's relaxed but I'll ask
Can you handle your heart?

She's a little detrimental to her boyfriend's health
That is if she has one, has she even felt
What it means to be in love
If she falls in line from the start?

If she falls...

Here's a girl I would've fallen for
A brush against me, shudders, nothing more
Would it last, but alas
I would've fallen apart

She's a girl that I melted over
A jacket away, cold to my core
In my past, but too fast
There's nothing too far

Pictures Now

All of the pictures are just pictures now
All of the stories are just fiction now
I'm not sure what I ever saw in them
Is that what makes me a boy or what makes me a man?

Do you see me as another little kid
Who's bitten off more than he can chew?
A love-shot litterbug
Crawling after you?

Puzzle pieces represent another perfect fit
Drawing attention to an outline drawn in sand
A fired up world
Three points from caving in

All of the hello's are just filler now
All of the goodbye's are just new ghost towns
I'm not sure what I ever saw in them
Is that what makes me a boy or what makes me a man?

Would you ever look up to a figment of me?
Or like a proud lawn, staying two steps ahead
Trying to figure out
What's worth alive or dead

Are you a fan of love, clandestinely?
A broken bottle shard filling in for your cool
If I don't ask the question
I won't have to face the truth

All of the pictures are just pictures now
All of the stories are just fiction now
I'm not sure what I ever saw in them
Is that what makes me a boy or what makes me a man?

Serendipity

She fell in love with him
The moment the cigarette touched his lips
She was in search for a sense
of danger laced with experience

She needed a best friend
One that'd never break, just bend
Under ev'ry bit of her will
Safety latches under the thrill

So if you fall through the cracks, waiting to land on your back
Remember the impact that you could have had
But instead you decided to throw it all away
Throw it away

Instead she found a film
Playing though moments in her head
Watching 'til the tail end
Waiting for the recovery

Roses out on a limb
With a different name, a different whim
She felt her sun burning out
Leaving her with nothing to laugh about

So if you fall through the cracks, waiting to land on your back
Remember the impact that you could have had
But instead you decided to throw it all away
Throw it away
Serendipity

She fell in love with him

Interstellar

There was once an era
of blonde girls and bleached hair
A time that separated the men
from the rest of the boys

Though in the end, I don't believe
that anything really mattered
We were all made out to be
the object of another toy

Brokenhearted, we flocked to the streets,
internet super highway
Marching in line to the beat of a drummer
that couldn't be seen

Was it even fun? I couldn't figure out
where we were going anyway
Instead, we thought we had crossed
the finish line in one piece

What a trip that was,
Numbers and equations

But now we're dealing with all of the difference
and what's the same
Trudging along a trench, a grave
that's already been dug out for me

A doe eyed girl following me on the way home,
a flow by a different name
Dodging cars as well as hearts,
someone should knock me into reality
